Alex Hoffs is President of PSM, appointed in 2010. He has extensive experience in the Gas Turbine business, joining Alstom, a French multinational energy and rail company, in 1996 as an engineer for the GT24/GT26 Product Development unit. He held various leadership roles in Alstom gas turbine development and service, both in Europe and in the United States. Alstom’s purchase of PSM in 2000 brought Alex to a leadership role in Jupiter, FL. He currently oversees all of PSM’s business lines and operations, working closely with PSM’s parent organization, Ansaldo Energia. Alex holds an advanced engineering degree from RWTH Aachen in Germany and obtained his Ph.D. in Science Technology from Ecole Polytechnique Federale Lausanne in Switzerland.
Vice President, Products & Platforms
Tim is responsible for Product Development at PSM. He has over 28 years of experience in the gas turbine industry, including 9 years at Pratt & Whitney designing military gas turbine engines, and 3 years at Agilis Group developing solutions for Solar and Allied Signal gas turbines. In 1999, Tim joined PSM and has assumed several management positions of increasing responsibility in R&D and engineering. Tim obtained his BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida.
Robert Danenbergs was appointed Finance Director of PSM in 2011. With over 10 years of experience managing finance functions in gas turbine service businesses, Robert has senior leadership expertise and and is responsible for the finance and IT functions at PSM, with close involvement in commercial and risk management decisions. Previously he was Finance Director at Alstom Switzerland in the Gas Turbine Service business line. Prior to that he held various finance roles within Alstom. He is a UK Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent), and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern European History from the University of London, England.
VP, Reconditioning & Shop Operations
Chuck is responsible for the development of PSM’s reconditioning business and all workshop activities. He has over 28 years of experience and holds a BS in Metallurgical Engineering. He is a recognized authority in the manufacturing of gas turbine components for commercial/military aerospace and IGT industries. He started his career at Pratt & Whitney’s Military Engine Products Division as a Materials Development Engineer and holds 12 patents related to metallurgical processing in the manufacture of gas turbine components. In 1998 Chuck co-founded Applied Engineering Company (AEC) which was one of two companies that later merged in 2000 to form Power Systems Mfg., LLC (PSM). Since PSM’s inception Chuck held the title of VP of Manufacturing and was responsible for development of PSM’s supply chain and manufacturing process development. Chuck earned his BS in Metallurgical Engineering.
Director, Human Resources
Gail was appointed Human Resources Director of PSM in 2014 and provides leadership on PSM’s personnel management and corporate HR strategy. With over 13 years of experience with PSM’s parent company, Alstom, she advanced to HR Director of Thermal Services for North Europe. She also served as SPX Corporation’s HR Director, UK and Ireland. Gail holds an MA of Human Resource Management from Derby University in England.
Vice President, Marketing & Strategy
Jeff Benoit is Vice President of Marketing & Strategy, appointed in 2008. This includes Global Product Management, Business Development including M&A, Collaborations and Strategy and Marketing. He has been with PSM since 2001, initially as the Director, and then Vice President of the Combustion Engineering R&D Group. Prior to this, Jeff was with GE for 16 years, starting his career in the Aircraft Engine Group in Lynn, MA. He then moved to the power generation business in Schenectady NY, assuming positions of increasing responsibility and leadership in the engineering organization with a prime focus on the mechanical design and development of advanced combustion systems for B, E & F-class gas turbines. Jeff, a holder of 4 patents, received his BSc. from Clarkson University and MSc. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) both in Mechanical Engineering. He is also a graduate of GE’s Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) and Advanced Course in Engineering (ACE).
Director, Quality, EHS and IT
Elisabeth is responsible for Quality Planning, Employee Health & Safety and Information Technology. Previously she was the Head of Quality and EHS at Alstom Switzerland in the Gas Turbine Service Business. In 2008 Elisabeth joined PSM in Jupiter and was appointed Director of Quality and EHS in 2009. Elisabeth holds an advanced engineering degree in environmental engineering from ETH Zurich (Federal Technical Institute of Technology of Zurich, Switzerland) and obtained a post graduate diploma from PHW Business School in Zurich, Switzerland.
Director, Research & Development
Peter Stuttaford was appointed Director of R&D of PSM in 2014. With 23 years of experience in the field of gas turbine engineering, Peter has senior leadership expertise and is responsible for new product development. He holds 40 patents in the field of gas turbine development. With 15 years of experience at PSM, he previously held various positions within the PSM combustion organization before taking responsibility for leading the group, successfully developing advanced technologies for commercial field application. Prior to joining PSM, Peter worked as a combustion engineer at Pratt & Whitney Canada. He holds a PhD from Cranfield University, England, a MS from the University of Florida, USA, and a BS from the University of Natal, South Africa.
John Soderberg was appointed Legal Director of PSM in 2011. John previously held senior in-house legal positions in France, Italy and England. Prior to joining PSM, John was Legal Director of Alstom Transport in Paris. John has been admitted to the Bar Associations of Minnesota and Washington, DC and he is a Florida registered in-house counsel. John is also a qualified solicitor in England and Wales. John received his JD degree (with honors) from George Washington Law School and his BA degree (with honors) from Stanford University.
