Alex Hoffs, President of PSM (Power Systems Manufacturing, LLC) announced that February 25, 2016 marked the official merger date for PSM and Ansaldo Energia Group, headquartered in Genoa, Italy. In his remarks, Mr. Hoffs said, “Ansaldo Energia, a supplier of advanced power generation equipment and services, has acquired PSM to strengthen its global service business, with an increased focus on “Other OEM” gas turbine platforms. Ansaldo Energia recognizes PSM for its own technology solutions, focus on our customers and knowledge of the market. Jointly, we will leverage the combined strength of a larger business, especially with Ansaldo Energia’s steam turbine and generator service experience, and Ansaldo Thomassen, a provider of services for GE type gas turbines. In the new group, PSM will remain focused on serving our customers with innovative solutions for gas turbine power plants.”
Mr. Hoffs went on to recognize Alstom, which had owned PSM since March of 2007, as an outstanding supporter of PSM, allowing the company to develop and expand its service capabilities, including a much enhanced service portfolio, engine performance upgrades, rotor lifetime repairs, and advanced combustion systems for the 7FA and 501F gas turbines. He noted that PSM was able to enter a number of long-term service agreements with PSM’s own field services team, component repair workshop, and monitoring and diagnostics center, all anchored by PSM’s strong R&D and service engineering teams.
He concluded with an overview of PSM’s opportunities and a warm welcoming message to customers, who can expect continued growth in support of their business goals and strategies from PSM, part of Ansaldo Energia Group.
