PSM authored and presented four (4) technical papers at the 2015 ASME Turbo Expo in Montreal, Quebec, Canada the week of June 8th. Now in its 60th year, Turbo Expo is recognized as the preeminent world-wide turbine technical conference and is presented by ASME’s International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI). Last year, the conference recognized and celebrated the 75th anniversary of the first Industrial gas turbine for power generation by BBC (now Alstom), a harbinger of the eventual use of GT’s in aviation and other forms of propulsion.
The conference brought together over 3,000 of the industry’s leading turbomachinery professionals to share the latest in turbine technology, research, development and applications with over 1,000 papers presented in 300 sessions. PSM has been presenting peer-reviewed papers on our technology innovations and methodologies at this conference every year since 2003! This year, our topics ranged from fracture mechanics on GT rotor disks and a root cause analysis using a fully-coupled lifetime model, to the technical approach & validation of our 7FA R0 compressor blade as well as our LEC-III® combustion system implemented in a Frame 7B GT application.
The conference also provides a unique opportunity for PSM to benchmark the market and discuss our technologies with new & existing customers, while gathering insight from the world’s leading researchers on new innovations being developed & implemented in the GT power generation industry.
